SEGA Launches Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom on iOS Devices

We reported a few days ago SEGA plans to launch the sequel to Sonic Dash mobile game on Android and iOS platforms very soon.

Some of you might remember that SEGA soft-launched Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom on Android platform back in July, but the game was not available in the United States. In fact, it was only available in several countries, which makes sense since the game was still under testing.

The good news is SEGA has just unleashed Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom on iOS devices, so fans of the franchise can now download it via App Store.

The game has been developed by the folks over at Hardlight, a SEGA studio that also created the original Sonic Dash game, as well as other mobile titles like Crazy Taxi: City Rush and Sonic Jump Fever.

According to developers, the game mixes elements in the first episode and takes them to the next level since Sonic Dash 2 has been entirely redesigned.

Players will be able to race with up to three characters in new Team Play mode. They can also swap runners in the middle of a race in order to earn high scores.

“The success of Sonic Dash has been very gratifying for us and while we keep improving the experience in the first episode, we wanted to go further – designing and coding the sequel from scratch. After a year of development we’re now ready to launch Sonic Dash 2.

We hope that many players around the world will make Sonic Dash 2 their new best friend as they commute to work or want an entertaining pause in their busy days,” explains Chris Southall, Head of Hardlight.

You can now download Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom for iOS for free via App Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
