Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Renders Are Closest to the Real Thing

Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, also known as Talkman and Cityman, are the next flagship smartphones to be announced by Microsoft.

While they might be revealed at the same time in early September during IFA 2015 trade fair, the Lumia 950 XL is likely to be available on the market several weeks after its smaller brother.

Nevertheless, the folks over at WindowsCentral have put together a series of renders made after what their sources told them about the Lumia 950 XL, one of Microsoft's upcoming high-end smartphone.

After publishing them online, one of the sources who had the Lumia 950 XL in his hand said the pictures look exactly like the real thing.

First of all, while initial reports claimed that Lumia 950 and 950 XL will be made of polycarbonate and that Microsoft will launch two versions (black and white), @evleaks now says he's been tipped on the fact that a third color option will be available at launch: cyan.

That being said, the renders published online are showing all three color version of the Lumia 950 XL: black, cyan and white.
Windows Hello and Continuum features will be enabled weeks after launch

As for the phone's specs, it appears that we're looking at a high-end smartphone powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the smartphone will be packed with 32GB of internal memory with microSD expansion support up to 128GB.

Also, the Lumia 950 XL will boast a stunning 5.7-inch OLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Although the smartphone will be made of polycarbonate, it will feature aluminum external button and a 1mm silver ring inside the circumference of the black camera pod.

Speaking of which, Lumia 950 XL will feature a 20-megapixel PureView camera with triple LED flash in the back, as well as 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera in the front.

It will be powered by a 3,300 mAh removable battery and it will feature integrated Qi wireless charging, iris scanner (infrared) for Windows Hello and USB Type-C port.
