LG G Pad 2 Coming Soon with 8.3-Inch FHD Display, Snapdragon 805

Remember the LG G Pad 8.3 tablet which was released back in 2013? The device proved to be a relatively decent tablet with nifty specs and it was sold for an affordable price tag.

Well, according to the latest batch of information, LG is looking to update the earlier model with a new tablet dubbed the LG G Pad 2.

As leakster Leaksfly has tipped on Weibo, the slate is expected to arrive with an 8.3-inch display, just like its predecessor. The screen will offer 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and will draw power from a Snapdragon 805 chipset, which is no longer the newest piece of silicon on the market.

Anyway, the quad-core CPU works in concert with an Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable memory.

In the photography department, we find that the G Pad 2 will feature an 8MP rear snapper with 5MP camera for selfies and video chats.
LG to launch the new G Pad 2 with the newest Android software

The good news is that the slate will be released with Android 5.1 pre-installed on board, so for a short period of time, users will be off the hook with updates. Well, when Android M arrives, we hope LG will pick up the new update swiftly and will offer it even to its middle-range tablet models.

According to the information we have at our disposal, the LG G Pad 2 will be released in October. The original LG G Pad 8.3 was also launched in October of 2013, so the new tablet will come after exactly two years.

Pricing and availability of the upcoming model are unknown, but we’ll update you as soon as the information becomes available.

The original LG G Pad 8.3 arrived with an IPS LCD capacitive 8.3-inch touchscreen which offered 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution.

The tablet lived off a Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Originally, the tablet shipped out with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, then it was upgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat and then to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The slate also features a 5MP/1.3MP camera combo. As you can see, this year LG has slightly bumped up the specifications of the original model. Are you interested in picking up the revamped model?
