Microsoft Lumia 640 on Sale at AT&T's GoPhone for $80

Good news for Windows Phone fans in the United States, as AT&T is the third carrier to offer one of the most popular smartphones launched by Microsoft this year, the Lumia 640.

Microsoft Lumia 640 is now available for purchase via GoPhone, AT&T's sub-brand, for just $80. The same smartphone is now available in the US at T-Mobile and MetroPCS where it can be had for $130 or $40, respectively.

However, the Magenta carrier also offers customers the option to grab the Lumia 640 for free on $5.41 monthly payments for 24 months.

AT&T's pricing for the Lumia 640 seems pretty decent, but we're certain the smartphone will be available for much cheaper in the coming weeks, so if you can't afford to pay $80 for this mid-range Windows Phone handset you can wait until the next sale.
Windows 10 Mobile upgrade could arrive in October

As for the phone's specs, Microsoft Lumia 640 ships with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 right out of the box but will receive a Windows 10 Mobile upgrade later this year after Microsoft releases the new OS.

When it comes to hardware, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, there's an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary modest 1-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

The Lumia 640 sports a 5.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

Microsoft's mid-range Windows Phone handsets offers 4G LTE support along with other connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, NFC (Near Field Communication), GPS with AGPS and FM Radio.
