Huawei Enjoy 5 with 4,000 mAh Battery Launches in China for $157

Huawei recently became the world’s third smartphone vendor, so in order to maintain this status, the company (much like Samsung) must sustain a continuous flow of new devices arriving on the market.

The company’s recent addition to its ever-expanding portfolio is the Enjoy 5, a model that will only be offered for purchase in China with a very affordable price tag, that of $158 / €139 (as seen at Phone Radar).

The phone’s best feature is the hefty 4,000 mAh battery which is said to be able to last up to 10 days and 12 hours on standby.

Following the great success of the Honor 4X mid-ranger, Huawei continues to aggressively target its home market China, which has been flooded in recent months by low-cost smartphone makers who keep making better and better phones.
Huawei Enjoy 5 brings good specs at a low price

The Enjoy 5 makes a debut with a 5-inch display with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels) and with a MediaTek MT6745 quad-core processor. The Honor 4X was offered in two variants, one with a Kirin chipset (for the internal market) and one with a Snapdragon for the international one. But the Enjoy 5 will only launch in one variant, given that it is aimed at China only.

The phone also bundles 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but microSD card expansion of up to 128GB is offered for those who feel they need more.

We expect the Enjoy 5 to take advantage of the same 13MP main camera and 5MP frontal snapper, a setup found in a lot of mid-rangers available on the market today, like the Xiaomi Mi4i, for example.

The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.0 out of the box. Given that Google has already started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, we can’t help but wonder whether the phone will get the update at some later date. However, given Huawei’s history with updates, we don’t expect this to be happening any time soon.

The phone features dual SIM standby and 4G LTE connectivity on both SIM cards.

While the pricing has been announced, we don’t know exactly when the Huawei Enjoy 5 will become available for purchase on the market.
