Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Goes on Sale in Canada for $250

The Galaxy Grand Prime is already available in the United States at multiple major carriers, but beginning this week customers in Canada can purchase the mid-range smartphone as well.

As MobileSyrup points out, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is now available for purchase in Canada at Bell, Telus and Videotron, but other carriers might add it to their portfolios soon.

Potential customers should know the smartphone can be had for $250 outright or $50 on two-year agreements. All Canadian carriers offer the Galaxy Grand Prime for around the same price, so you can choose whichever you want.

The smartphone comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box, even though the Galaxy Grand Prime was released back in October with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system onboard.

The rest of the phone's specs seem to be more like those of an affordable smartphone rather than a mid-ranged one, but Samsung handsets have always been more expensive regardless of tier.
A pretty expensive mid-range smartphone

For example, the smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution and 220ppi (pixel per inch) density.

On the inside, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

There are only 8GB of storage inside the Galaxy Grand Prime, though users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the handset packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy Grand Prime offers both 4G LTE support and Wi-Fi, as well as microUSB 2.0, GPS with AGPS and NFC (Near Field Communication).

Last but not least, Samsung's mid-range Android smartphone is powered by a 2,600 mAh removable battery, which should provide up to 17 hours of talk time.
