Great news for fans of Lava Mobiles, as the Indian handset maker has just released a sequel to its popular Flair P1 smartphones that was launched on the market back in May.
The new Flair Z1 is now available for purchase in India for only Rs 5,699 outright, which is about $90 or €80. It comes with many upgrades over the previous model, though it also costs twice more than the Flair P1.
According to a new report, Lava Flair Z1 sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, which is an upgrade over the P1's much smaller 4-inch screen.
However, the resolution supported (480 x 854 pixels) is kind of disappointing, even for such a low-priced smartphone.
Another strong point of the device would be the fact that it ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which not many smartphones at that price have to offer.
On the inside, Lava Flair Z1 is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
Decent specs for a low price
Among many of the phone's apps and services that come pre-installed, Lava included some sort of Gesture Control features that allows users to launch apps from lock screen much quicker. Also, Auto Call Recording, Flip to Mute and many other features have been implemented as well.
On the back, the Flair Z1 packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.
Connectivity-wise, Lava's affordable smartphones offer both 3G and dual-SIM support, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, FM Radio, GPS with AGPS and FM Radio.
It's also worth mentioning the Flair Z1 is powered by a 2,000 mAh removable battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
Potential customers should know that Lava Flair Z1 will go on sale exclusively at Snapdeal starting July 30 and that it will be available in two color options: Black and White.
