OnePlus 2 Officially Introduced, on Sale from August 11 for $330


OnePlus has finally taken the wraps off their “2016 flagship killer,” the OnePlus 2. Many of the specs we talked about in the past have been confirmed by the Chinese company during the launch event, so here is a short recap.

But first of all, OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase beginning August 11 for only $330 outright. This will get you the 16GB model, but for slightly more money, $390, customers will be able to get the 64GB variant.

It's also worth mentioning that OnePlus 2 will only sell through the usual invitational system, so there will be no purchasing without an invitation.

The Chinese company also announced that it would setup pop up stores in different markets around the world where customers will be able to purchase accessories or even receive invitations to get the OnePlus 2.

OnePlus 2 will be available from August in the US, Canada, India, European Union countries and China, which South East Asia countries will follow in Q4.

Moving on to specs, OnePlus 2 will ship with OxygenOS 2.0, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, but also includes some Android M features, as the handset maker teased a few days ahead of the smartphone's official unveil.

As many of you probably know by now, OnePlus 2 is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, which is complemented by either 3GB RAM or 4GB of RAM, as well as 16GB and 64GB of storage, respectively.

Also, the high-end device sports a large 5.5-inch LCD HD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and should offer a 1,500:1 contrast ratio.

On the back, OnePlus 2 will be packed with a 13-megapixel photo snapper that features large 1.3micron pixel sensors, OIS (optical image stabilization), laser autofocus, and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The main camera comes with a similar technology included in Oppo Find 7, which allows the phone to process pictures to 50-megapixel resolution, which is called Super-Resolution Mode.

While OnePlus 2 offers dual-SIM and 4G LTE support, it does not feature NFC (Near Field Communication. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port and GPS with AGPS and GLONASS.

Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a 3,300 mAh removable battery, but no quick charging or wireless charging technology has been implemented.
