Microsoft Lumia 950 XL (Cityman) Might Feature On-Screen Keys

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL (Cityman) Might Feature On-Screen Keys

Last week, specs of Microsoft’s upcoming flagship duo made up of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL (Talkman and Cityman) have leaked online once again, revealing what’s to come in a few months.

Even so, these are preliminary specs, so it shouldn’t be such a big surprise if Microsoft ends up changing some of them before they go official.

However, today we get more info about the purported Lumia 950 XL model. According to WMPU, Cityman will include on-screen keys instead of capacitive keys. But why has Microsoft decided to go with this scenario?

It could be that the Redmond tech giant has been gathering feedback from users who might prefer on-screen keys for a couple of reasons. First off, you rid yourself of those annoying accidental presses, and secondly, once you’re not using these keys, they quickly vanish into thin air.
Will Talkman benefit from the same treatment?

As for the Lumia 950 (Talkman), we still don’t know whether this model will also include on-screen keys, but it seems quite likely this will end up being the case.

WMPU is also showing us a mockup of the Cityman, which has on-screen keys. Well, sort of, as the depiction seems pretty interpretable. So you should be taking this piece of info with a big grain of salt.

For those who haven’t been following the Lumia 950 XL story, this is as good a place as any to remind you that, according to the latest news, Cityman will arrive with a 5.7-inch OLED display with QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

The phone will pack an iris scanner (infrared) for Windows Hello and microSD card slot (up to 128GB). It should receive its power from a Snapdragon 810 processor fitted with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

On the back, Microsoft’s Cityman will feature a 20MP Pureview camera with triple-LED flash. Word on the street has it that it will also feature a 1mm silver ring inside the circumference of the black camera pod.

Last but not least, Cityman should be powered by an improved 3,300 mAh removable battery and will feature both Qi wireless and USB Type-C port.
