The development team at Blizzard is ready to deliver more information on the content that will be offered to gamers in the coming update 2.3.0 for the action title, with the focus now on the Ruins of Sescheron area that will be open for exploration.
The official Battle.net announcement states, "Where once the sights and sounds of a bustling city could be found, now there are only the distant howls of madmen, glimpses of hungry beasts prowling in shadows, and air thick with the palpable weight of shattered hope."
The city was once a symbol of the united Barbarian tribes and was on the path towards the Worldstone, with powerful warriors guarding its gates, ready to stand against any threat.
Then Baal, the Lord of Destruction, moved through the area and destroyed all those who opposed him, leaving ruins in his wake and only memories of a once powerful civilization.
The Ruins of Sescheron will be offered on the Act II adventure mode map and will allow gamers to explore a new environment in which the Kanai's Cube is hidden.
Gamers will also be able to interact with new characters in order to find out more about the zone and its dangers.
Patch 2.3.0 for Diablo 3 does not yet have a launch date
Blizzard is at the moment testing the new major update on the Public Test Realms of the action role-playing game, with those taking part currently evaluating the new features and offering feedback on how they can be improved.
The biggest new addition is the Kanai's Cube, which will allow gamers to break down Legendary items and use their effects as passives for their own character.
The item also has the power to turn one material into another and is more powerful than the Horadric Cube, with more details about its capabilities coming in the coming weeks.
Update 2.3.0 for Diablo 3 will also introduce changes to the classes, the combat and other core gameplay mechanics, while also adding the new Season Journey feature to the title.
Blizzard is not saying when the changes will be delivered for all those who own the title.
