Dell Venue 8 7840 Receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop Update




Dell has finally found the time to bring its Venue 8 7840 tablet to Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The major update follows the latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop version that was delivered back in May after many delays.

The latest upgrade brings quite a few new features and improvements, beside those that are usually included in Google's Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

According to the official changelog, Android 5.1 Lollipop for Dell Venue 8 7840 should bring enhanced access via Quick settings for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

In addition, the update has been confirmed to contain UI enhancements like Volume slider tweaks. Also, some new animations on the Clock application have been implemented as well.

Dell also states that improved SD Card support is also available and that they have fixed a bug which prevented some apps from being moved to SD Card.

Android 5.1 Lollipop also adds updated localization in the form of four additional languages: Danish (Denmark), Finnish (Finland / Sweden), Norwegian, Swedish (Finland / Sweden).

Two new Dell Live wallpapers have also been added, along with depth processing improvements for Dell Gallery and miscellaneous bug fixes.

Keep in mind that, once you download and install Android 5.1 Lollipop on your Dell Venue 8 7840 tablet, you will need to reboot your device to completed the update process.
